Not really much of a project, as the PC and everything is already built, but thought I would show it anyway.

Found this Dell Studio One on ebay.  Ended up getting for $250.  It was used, but very lightly.  I dont really like the red color, would have preferred a black one, but for the price I couldnt complain.

Wow, this thing handles the jukebox perfectly.  Everything is nice and responsive, and the touch screen on it works great.  Very nice machine for this application.  Just run some power to it and a cable out to the amp, mounted it to the wall and we were set.

Unfortunately this machine doesnt have a standard VESA mount on the back, so I had to buy a custom made one off the internet.  I think it was around $60 or $70.

We have it in the kitchen/dining area of our house.  It gets lots of compliments when people see it.  One of the inlaws asked if it was an ipad.... haha!  ::)

Yea, I think that is the one.  This machine had sort of an odd resolution, so I was glad when I found one that worked.  Thanks eist!

Would look better if there was a wide screen version of the red skin, It would all blend in better then. You could probably make a widescreen version of that skin by copying the images from the red skin straight into that one assuming the filenames are the same.

TurnItUp,

Here are the updated 1600x900 skins, I actually have the Gateway ZX4800 All In One, and it works great.

These 1600x900 skins have been updated to support all of the V6.5. new functions (Online Search and Pop Up Player Controls)

Slider skin with Menu button to hide the less used buttons

This skin comes with cover files for 18 or 28 albums per page

Here's the 1600x900 with letters on top and arrows on the sides

This skin comes with cover files for 18 or 27 albums per page

I just bought a dell studio one off of ebay. It still has a lot of the old user's crap on it.  I really want to wipe it clean and start over.  The questions i have are.. Put in XP or Vista?? it has vista from dell and it might be a pain to get the drivers to work with XP.  is there a way to restore the hard drive from the factory partition? Thanks for any help.

eist1

cyko,

The Gateway All in One I have has an option to build restore CD's to restore the operating system, see if Dell has that option, build the disks and then just restore the PC to Original which should wipe everything. I know if you load Windows 7 on there, alot of the drivers will be found, but the OEM restore at least will have all the drivers you need. Here's a link to Dell that explains on what to do and order Restore DVD's if needed  http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=DSN_298A2E89689E13C2E040A68F5B280AA4&isLegacy=true or maybe TurnItUp can make a copy of the backup DVD's he has  :)

Thanks for the update eist!  I will give it a try.  The one I am using now works well, but I noticed the "times played" option wasnt in the correct place.  I was so excited to find a skin that fit, that it didnt really bother me, but the new one will look even better... Thanks!

Yes, cyko, if you need a copy of the DVD, I think I received one when I bought mine, just let me know.  I got rid of Vista and put Win 7 on it.  Runs so much nicer than Vista.  The one challenge I had was that the Win 7 setup didnt have the correct driver for the CD/DVD drive (even though it booted from it) so it couldnt complete the installation.  After lots of searching I ended up copying the install files to a USB stick and booting from it.  Then it installed like a charm.

if you press F8 on start up as if you were going to boot into safe mode, there will be an option there to restore your computer back to the factory settings, so you dont really need a recovery dvd but its always bloody handy to have them
